Kahlil Robert Irving, born in 1992 in San Diego, CA, is an acclaimed artist currently based in the United States. He earned his MFA from the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Art at Washington University in St. Louis (2017) and his BFA in Art History and Ceramics/Sculpture from the Kansas City Art Institute (2015). Irving's work has been featured in numerous exhibitions, including solo shows at the Museum of Modern Art and Wesleyan University's Center for the Arts, as well as group exhibitions at the Whitney Museum of American Art, the New Museum Triennial, and the Singapore Biennale. His pieces are held in prestigious collections like the J.P. Morgan Chase Art Collection, the Carnegie Museum of Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art. He has received the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Biennial Award (2019) and the Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant (2020). Irving is known for his digital based art, and was recently in thr Museum of Fine Arts Houston to showcase his large-scale wallpaper installation composed of hundreds of digital images, reflecting modern digital life.
